Comment Luv for Drupal 5x has also been updated fixing a number of issues from the initial release.
Many thanks to Lomz for his hard work in updating the module.
When someone posts a comment on your site Comment Luv attempts to find their latest blog post and add the title and link to the bottom of their comment. Comment Luv is great for attracting people to comment on your blogs and a great way to build back links to your site.
Acer Aspire One
Submitted by Pete on Sun, 09/28/2008 - 6:10pm.Yesterday I got my hands on a brand new Acer Aspire One! The 25cm mini laptop currently on sale for £180 at Comet packs in great power and portability.
Tech Spec
Processor: 1.6ghz Intel Atom
Memory: 512mb
Hard Drive: 8gig SSD
Screen: 1024x600
Battery: 3 Hours

(The version I have on the left and the slightly more powerful version on the right) Image Techfresh.
The Aspire One comes with a cut down version of Linspire however I soon replaced this with Windows XP. This is not to say there is anything wrong with Linspire and I'm considering restoring it however I was interested to see how well XP ran.
As there is no CD drive I installed this via a USB key. XP does not run as fast as Linspire however is an acceptable speed. As many of the applications I use in XP such as Firefox and Filezilla are available under Linspire then I'm undecided as to which OS to use.
The keyboard is a good size allowing typing at a similar speed to a full size keyboard and with a 1024x600 display webpages display well.
The Aspire One includes three USB ports, a VGA socket, gigabit Lan, headphones, microphone, 5 in 1 memory card reader and an SD expansion slot.

How to Look Cool on Facebook
Submitted by Pete on Sun, 09/07/2008 - 11:01pm.I had a hard time at school, being cool meant playing sports and beating people up but to the kids of today cool has a new meaning and it all revolves around Facebook.
Here are the top five ways you can be cool on Facebook:
1. Adding as many 'friends' as possible.
This trend is simple, the more friends you have the cooler you are. On MySpace it was OK to add anyone however on Facebook you tend to add people you know. By knowing I mean, met once, friend of a friend or shared a class at school.
This simple graph highlights the correlation:
As you can see there is a clear correlation between number of friends and coolness.
2. Joining Groups
This is not as simple as joining as many groups as possible, they need to be the right groups.
Not everyone gets it right and some people end up looking retarded when leave.
One incredibly cool person who I was privileged enough to get added by recently regularly invites me to lots of groups.

The rules for joining groups are simple
- The more members the better
- CAPITAL LETTERS are essential - join any group that capitalises the name.
- If someone else cool invites you to the group then it must be cool.
3. Pictures
Pictures on Facebook are a bit like going to your local all you can eat Chinese as you know you are going for quantity and quality. It doesn't matter that Facebook resizes photos in a horrible way and doesn't provide decent resolution copies.
Emo poses aren't as cool as they were on Myspace so try to find a picture where you are actually smiling.
4. Applications
Super poking someone has already gone out of fashion - kicking high in the sky is now in. You have to keep up with these little changes to stay cool.
5. Follow the Rules on Facebook Coolness
I'm not shitting you, someone has written rules on how to be cool on Facebook.
http://www.wikihow.com/Be-Cool-on-Facebook
These rules cover everything from how to talk to people, how much to write and to a certain extent what to write. Advice such as rule 8 'Don't send Bumper Stickers more than once a week.' is golden to staying cool.
Xbox 360 Defects - An Insider Story
Submitted by Pete on Sun, 09/07/2008 - 10:25am.The majority of Xbox 360 owners I know have sent their Xbox off for repair at some point over the past three years. Almost every time I turn mine on I'm waiting for the dreaded red rings of death to appear.
Dean Takahashi from Venture Beat has written an in depth article into the problems behind the 360 failure rate and what Microsoft (and its competitors) have learn't from it.
If your a 360 owner or had problems with your console then its well worth a read.
If my 360 failed and I couldn't get it repaired, I would most likely by a PS3 or Wii.
Civilization Revolution
Submitted by Pete on Sun, 08/31/2008 - 7:42pm.It's been a while since I've reviewed a game or even bought a new one but yesterday I purchased Civilization Revolution for Xbox 360. The game follows in the footsteps of past Civilization games, you control a nation and are responsible for expansion, technological advances, defense, politics and an array of other demographics for managing your civilization.
I've been a big fan of the Civilization (Civ) franchise since Civ 2 and was keen to discover how the game had made its transition from PC to console. Over the past year I've favored console games over PC games because of the ease of putting in a disk and playing a game over installing it on your PC.
Civilization Revolution is similar to Civ 4 for the PC however much of the micro management from Civ 4 has been removed, the pace of the game has been significantly increased mainly because technological discoveries happen a lot faster.
Managing city workers in the game has been almost removed and a simplified way of building roads between cities has been implemented. Many of the wonders have changed the benefits they make available to an extent where many of them are now worthless.
The interface and controls have made the transition well from the pc to console, the interface is easy to move around with a controller and you don't feel like your missing the keyboard and mouse.
If your a fan of past Civ games or enjoy turn based strategies then I would recommend Civilization 4, otherwise it might not be the game for you.

How to find out that song from your iPhone
Submitted by Pete on Sun, 08/10/2008 - 3:13pm.Have you ever heard a song whilst you were out and wondered what that it was? Well the free Shazam app will listen to the song then let you know what it is.
When you open the Shazam app it lists your previously discovered songs.

Hitting Tag Now will start the detection process.

The app listens to a few seconds of the song.

Then sends it off to its server to see if its on record.

If it is then a few seconds later it tells you the song and gives you the option to buy it.
The song has to be playing at a reasonable volume with little other background noise for it to work. I tried it in a pub on Friday and it was unable to detect the song but while sitting in front of the TV or listening to the radio it worked fine.
ImAFish Forum Has Best Month in Two Years
Submitted by Pete on Thu, 07/31/2008 - 11:42pm.The ImAFish Forum has seen its best month since May 2006 in what's been hailed as an epic revival. It was only five months ago in February that the Forum had its worst month ever.
The Forum Posts Per Month graph can be found on ImAFish Reports. The data goes all the way back from when the forum was founded in 2002. I've tried to see if there are any patterns in posting habits however there are no clear trends.
May seems a particularly good month throughout the years, this could be put down to it being exam time meaning members were looking for more ways to procrastinate however considering most members have full time jobs now this no longer applies.
Posting figures had been stabilising until about a year ago when the number of posters decreased, this dip lasted about 10 months until June when activity started to pick up again.
The number of posts per month on the forum is far from the early days in 2002 and 2003
