For New Year I've decided to lose some weight. Therefore I will not drink beer or cider until my birthday in March.

I'm also going to cut down on how much I eat, I already eat fairly healthy but normally cook too much so will try to eat smaller portions.

I'm going to try to do more exercise, I'm not going to join a gym as clearly this has not worked in the past and is a waste of money. I'm going to try to go walking every weekend - weather permitting! (I may need some encouragement here).

Finally I want to try to cut out aspartame (E951) out of my diet therefore no more diet drinks, sugar free drinks, sugar supplements or sweeteners because of the potential associated health risks.

Anyone else want to join me or have their own new years resolutions? (I'm going to sticky this thread so we can see if we keep to our resolutions ;-))

I have a few- first of all to keep in contact with people a lot better- meet up with old friends I havn't seen in years and visit relatives more often (as I'm guilty of seeing my grandparents just twice in 2008 and they only live the other side of B-Hilly!!)

I also plan to better myself in my job and work towards my next promotion, hopefully finishing 2009 on at least £5K more than 2008.

Next is to save like mad towards a house and look to buy a place with Dan by the end of the year.

And lastly, I want to join a band, air-drumming in my room just aint cutting it anymore! LOL! So if anyone knows of a drummer-less band, let me know!! :D

Oh, and the walks sound pretty cool (Lyth Hill is always a good one!) I don't exactly need to loose weight but I swear one of these days I'm gonna put on like 10 stone overnight! LOL

I'm 93kg after weighing today. I remember when I went to the gym I was around 80 - 85 kg so thats going to be my target weight for the next 3 months.

I want to do a fun run in order to have something to aim for....ideally I would like to do the London Marathon....though I did hear that women tend to perform better after they have had children?!

I went for a walk up Haughmond hill yesterday afternoon, will do loads of cycling once it gets warmer.

Would join the gym but they are all quite expensive :/

Anyone got an old exercise bike or cross trailer for sale?

I want to start cycling again as my bike is just sitting in my garage.
I also went a weekend without drinking, I still feel dirty all over!!

And Beanie they dont let just anyone do the London Marathon. Im pretty sure you need a few other marathons under your belt before they even consider letting you do it

I think you should just play the drums on rock band more, or perhaps get a Wii Fit

Wii fit is quite expensive, especially if you need to buy the Wii first.
