If you get the sky package they'll do your line rental for £10 and broadband for like an extra £5 dont you?

No, as I said above I can't get Skys cheap broadband in the area so the only one I can get is an extra £17 a month so I gotta get my broadband from another supplier

I think the cheapest option is to leave sky out and go with the talktalk package ben has.

TalkTalk for phone/internet/call package
Sky for TV/Sports

Yeah that's what I think, the only bitch is talktalk want £59.99 to connect the phone line, it's the phone line not being active that is causing the problem cos BT can connect it for me for free but then I'm tied to them for a 12 month line rental contract and if I'm understanding it right if my line rental is with BT I can't use another provider for my calls & broadband?

Most broadband people dont do line rental so you'd need a BT line anyway Im sure talktalk would do it on bt's line but not as cheaply

Nah when I spoke to talktalk they said it had to be their line rental, it's a right pain in the arse. I might end up having the line rental & calls with BT, and then just get the broadband through someone else. Although one provider told me that the BT line rental (which comes with a 12 month contract) has a 10 day cooling off period so might be able to be sneaky and get them to activate the line for free then cancel their line rental contract in that period and get talktalks package, thus avoiding paying talktalk £60 to activate the line?

I had broadband with BT and then phoned up and complained about the service...they gave me a refund...cancelled the contract and i got to keep the home hub too :wink:

I am now officially moved in, people are more than welcome to come round for 'gatherings' although the slight hitch is I will only have 5 channels until I get my Sky installed on 21st July cos I can't pick up any freeview channels grr! We could of course go old school and have a PS2 Fifa tournament and indeed a Fight Night tournament, considering how angry people get about FIFA imagine the anger when we're knocking each other out!

On that note, we got an England friendly saturday evening and I'm recording the Argentina v Brazil game early hours sunday so can watch that sunday afternoon if anyone fancies coming round to see my finished place?
