Over the last 30 days we've experienced several power related issues in one of our primary datacenters in Ireland which has caused some disruption to a number of customers. With the level of concern this has now caused, and emergency maintenance window has been scheduled for Thursday 8th January 2009, and will last approximately 2 hours.

During this maintenance window, all power will be lost to the datacenter, and all servers and services will go offline, but this is essential to permanently resolve the issues. The issues themselves are due to a power board within the primary power system which was originally made in the United States and comes with an embedded EPO emergency cut off switch as it is a legal requirement in the United States. This faulty EPO has been causing power loss to several racks.

The estimated maintenance window is 7pm.

Further to our recent post, we can confirm tonights maintenance will begin at 00:00 lasting until 04:00 to replace the power boards in one of the primary datacenters. Our management team and all of our staff cannot apologise enough for the recent inconvenience, unfortunately some issues are outside of our control when it comes to third parties, but we try our upmost to deliver the best service possible.
