It's a bunch of people going round preaching "the word of the lord" and picketing outside some very random things such as funerals of soliders killed in Iraq, Im suprised they're still alive.

that was messed up, they seemed completely convinced it was ok for them to protest outside funerals was interesting they didn't always get the shit kicked out of them.

The Bible cannot be proved as either.
Someone tried to do that once, wrote a book trying to prove that it was fiction. by the end of the book theyd convinced themselves that it was real.

Any books Ive read with people who can walk on water usually come under the fiction heading in the library

well you have said that there is no evidence that the bible was real, but that is not reason to deny it exists. And that although some of the stuff in it is completely unbelievable and not possible by human beings, the fact that you believe in it makes it real, and makes the things that happen in it seem incredible because of that.

now all of that can be true about star wars as well, the fact that it was placed in a different part of the universe means in is impossible to prove, and therefore deny its existance. And the things that happen in it are unbelievable, but because we are not sure if it actually happened u can chose to believe in them and that makes the force an incredible thing.

and therefore the beliefs of the human mind can make star wars just as real as the bible....

ok maybe ur right. but its not as incredible. God created us all, gave us a beautiful planet, gave us everything, and we fucked up. and even then, having thrown it all back in His face, He still cared. Cared enough to watch His perfect Son die (in a REALLy painful way) so taht we could saved. And if that wasnt enough, then Jesus rose from the dead.

Look at it this way - 2000 years ago the planet was a mess, noone did much, people were bums and noone seemed to invent anything useful, so 'God' sent back Jesus who tried to sort it out however instead as dictated by Mel Gibson in the Passion, Jesus was tortured for around 2 and a half hours in a grusome yet for some people sickly entertaining way.

Fortunately this saved everyone which brings us to today where we live in a not quite perfect but pretty good world. If the world was as 'fucked' up as you seem to think why doesn't God send someone back again to sort it out.

All this brings me back to the original post, we can agree that the fucked up people from Westbro Baptist Church are psycho however all they are simply doing is passing responsibility of everything to God.

You have clearly stated elsewhere that God is responsible for good things that happen to you, I believe the example was good exam or cw marks. These psycho christians are simply passing on all responsibility on to God - ie if anything happens it must be an act of God therefore should be celebrated.

One day i'm sure they will protest at the wrong funeral and will witness a different act of god.

Surely if the negatives in this world outweighed the positives then everyone would either be dead or would commit suicide. Yes those things do go on but all this other religion are saying that everything is an act of god therefore must be celebrated - your just saying only the good things are gods work and everything else is just unlucky.



Whats the point in forgiveness? I personally think that encourages a bad culture - if jesus was so amazing he should be tackling social problems rather than letting them happen and saying thats ok you are now forgiven. What sort of justice system does that encourage?
