We do have a beautiful planet yes - what's all this fucking up about? I don't see much of that going on as a whole.

where to start? slave trade, global warming, adultery, murder, rape, terrorism, racism, homophobia... i could go on. and on. and on.

Surely if the negatives in this world outweighed the positives then everyone would either be dead or would commit suicide. Yes those things do go on but all this other religion are saying that everything is an act of god therefore must be celebrated - your just saying only the good things are gods work and everything else is just unlucky.

im not actually, everything is either God's work, the devil's work, or inspired by one or the other.
and they do outweigh the positives, millions are dying every year through crappy circumstances taht we can change, but most people are too damn selfish to care about anyone other than themselves and their families/friends. who cares about the rest of the world? they can sort themselves out! tell that to the victims of the tsunami. those that lost their homes, their lives... how do u rebuild after that?
or tell that to those suffering under Mugabe in Zimbabwe. Tell them that you dont give a shit cos ur lifes great and thats all that matters.
or tel it to those who have lost loved ones in Iraq. Or those that are dying so that we have stuff like chocolate. or clothes, or bananas.
Tell that to every mother who loses a child to something as preventable as the fucking flu. or to malnutrition. or AIDS.
yes i am pissed off. not at anyone on here. just the selfishness of mankind in general.
sorry for the rant.

Whats the point in forgiveness? I personally think that encourages a bad culture - if jesus was so amazing he should be tackling social problems rather than letting them happen and saying thats ok you are now forgiven. What sort of justice system does that encourage?

Jesus only forgives if you truly repet. and true repentance means you try not to do it again. in fact, you dont just try, you strive with commitment. and God is a just God. its just that for repenters the punishment has been given already.

I'm sad you have such a negative view on the world and life. Unfortunately many of the things you talk about are out of our control and are therefore not worth worrying too much about.

You talk about individual events as in to say these single acts are worth making the world a more negative place. You need to balance that with all the good things that are going on. Bad things make better news - don't let them taint your view on the world.

but they ARE within our control.. if we let them be. but thats a really defeatist attitude, to say theyre not, because we CAN make a difference. just look at Mother Teresa, David Wilkerson, Oskar Schindler, Bob Geldof, Nelson Mandela, Matin Luther King, the ten Boom family.
and all the ordinary people that organise projects in Kenya and other countries. those that give money each year, the people behind fairtrade food and jewellery... the people that participate in fairtade fortnight, those that write letters/emails to their MPs. there is so much that we can do, and yeah, it probably wont end worldwide poverty. but if everyone says 'i wont help cos it wont help everyone' then this world is screwed.

I dont really want to argue to something that there isn't really a right or wrong answer to.

Everyone can do what they want, we have on imafish - you can find out more on:

http://imafish.co.uk/about/charity

We recently became Carbon Neutral at work thanks to www.projectcarbon.org

Yeh thats from South Park series 11 episode 5 where they basically mock the da vinci code and religion and some American catholic bishops. The pope doesn't look too bad but is replaced by a Rabbit.

Have you ever read about intelligent design? It's an alternative theory to evolution that has been gaining a lot of momentum.

You can find out more on http://www.venganza.org/

If you read through the basics of the religion then it may sound a bit silly but I think thats what makes it all the more believeable.

If you read the evidence page there are a lot of high ranking people supporting the theory.

The hate mail page is a perfect example of people not tollerating/accepting other peoples relgious views.

I love the hate mail on that site, all the chrsitians writing in complaining its going to steal people away from thier religion, retards!

And no Im not accepting or tolerating anybodys religious views because they're all as far fetched and rediculous as each other, thats the whole point! Why is it more rediculous for the world and everything in it to have been created by a flying spaghetti monster than some hobo in a pair of sandles?

Im not anti all religion and think that its a good way to keep alot of people in check however I am a firm believer in a little thing called SCIENCE and FACTS!

Because u and i both know that 'the flying spaghetti theory' wouldnt last long. the Bible has been around roughly 4000 years. if its so crap, why has it been around for so long and why does it have so many followers?

and theres not enough evidence to totally prove or disprove science, and religion and science dont have to cancel each other out. God could have created the Big Bang, the six days could just have been six time periods or even a symbolic story simply to show that we should rest on the Sababth, and to show how omnipotent He is.

the Church screwed up there, big time. I'll admit it. but it was just the man's superiors, as opposed to the Church as a whole. but yeah, they should have taken it to the police.

and he should NEVER have still been allowed to work with boys in a school afterwards. especially not if the only way the school can justify it is by saying 'the abuse was entirely unconnected with the school.'
that made me furious.
