Thought I'd create a thread for all footie related discussion seeing as there's been a lot of footie posts lately.

Anyone heard about Saha offering to take no wages until he's proved his fitness?! 8O Not sure which is more surprising, that a footballer would make that offer or that Everton turned it down! I also heard that Everton have a deal in place for Vagner Love and he'll join in Jan when the Russian leagues finished.

I did hear that about Saha, I think it's hilarious Everton turned it down coz there's no way he'll be fit!

Serbian player spits at a referee, FIFA ban him from all football for a year

Joey Barton batters a teammate putting him in hospital, the FA give him a six game ban

What...the...fuck?!

Wouldn't it be simpler to apply 'eye for an eye' logic, the ref gets to spit in the Serbian player's face, and Dabo gets to batter the fuck out of Barton, much more fun than bans!

I reckon you could get a stadium full of people willing to pay to see Barton get the shit kicked out of him. I am however glad we didn't pay to see the Amir Khan fight, £12 per minute lol!

Capello lists Heskey's many footballing qualities -

“Joe Cole is scoring goals at the moment and it’s a good moment for him, while Emile Heskey also came on because he is big and we needed that.”

He did buy it in the end so quite a shit story really! He probably only said he was skint cos he had no change and I doubt the tramp took cards!
