Tim Westwood was in our SU last week so we caught up with him and got this quick interview. He manages to pimp our toy car with some "self pimping"? (not recommended) and he is a master of self-promotion!

The interview is by Bill Bennett and I filmed and did all the editing.

Holiday and more TV

By Pete | @kingpetey | 19 Jul 2005

I'm back from holiday now after spending a week in Portugal, had a good time and got a lot of nice photos, about a third of them can be found on the Gallery www.flickr.com/photos/pwhite .

I have been working on a couple of songs recently, the first can be found on the music section of the forum, its not finished and I have received a lot of feedback on how to improve it which I will hopefully get round to in the next few days. I lot of people have expressed wanting to work with me on the album and I look forward to putting it all together.

It seems I'm not the only one with fresh musical talent, one of our favourite artists - Craig David has a new album coming out next month called "The Story Goes" the first track you can hear on the radio now called "All The Way". I just don't know how I can compete!

The next series of 24 will broadcast in January in the US and UK (on Sky One), Fox have decided that showing all 24 episodes week after week was a good move rather than starting the show in September and taking a few annoying breaks through the year. It will be series 5 of the show and I cant wait to see how Jack Bauer will get back to CTU (again? ).

The hit US show Lost is coming to Channel 4 sometime soon (not sure on an exact date), you have probably seen the adverts with the people dancing round an island, its well worth watching though once you get to the end of the series you will be asking more questions then the show likes to answer.

Last night was the series finale of CSI on Channel 5 it was directed by Quentin Tarentino and the 2 hour show was one of the best I have seen. Still in my view it doesn't match to CSI Miami, which series finale was awesome, we find out some interesting things about Horatio's brother.

The BBC are showing their new BBC3 comedy - Mighty Boose online, you can see it at http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/, I personally don't think it matches upto Little Britain but it might improve over the next few weeks. Its quite nice being able to watch it when you want online but the quality needs a bit of work, especially for higher resolution monitors, hopefully the BBC's media player being developed to watch all BBC content through the net will fix these issues.

Finally I had to comment on Big Brother, I'm still not certain who I want to win, Kemal and Makosi must be the most annoying people on TV (yes worse than Patrick Kielty), I can only hope that Derek or Science win as they seem to be the only entertaining people in the house.

Hearsay to split

By Pete | @kingpetey | 01 Oct 2002

According to the sun newspaper this morning the band hearsay are to split up. Hearsay were formed out of the hit tv show on ITV which formed the band, soon after they were launched they had to number 1s but since then they have gone down hill and the band formed from their runners up, liberty X are now doing better then them. Though liberty X have had a show start they have come up on top and have scored a number of top10 hits.

Quoted in the Sun newspaper, the band blamed public hostility and the rigours of music industry life for the break-up. This news comes less then 2 years after the band was formed. Trouble started when member Kym Marsh left in February this year, and there was controversy over her replacement. Band member Danny has not made things better, he was quoted in the Sun saying: "Hear'Say was a phenomenon at the time and people have seen us grow and evolve into pop stars. "We were just cleaners and waiters. It's been hard work and the pressure has got too much. "Two months ago we were held up by a gunman and the next day people thought we had made it up as a publicity stunt." Though exact reasons for the bands unsuccessful time is unknown but is probably due to a number of reasons.

The band have not made any proper announcement yet but after todays story somthing will have to be said.

Tonight the popular show that put 8 celebrities in the Australian out back came to a conclusion with Tony Blackburn as the winner with 55% of the votes. Over 1.5million people voted in the final that was between Tony and Tara and to a lot of peoples surprise Tony just won, this largely because of Tony?s large radio listens fan base.

The show that has been running for 2 weeks now witted 8 celebrities against each other from all different professions including Christina Hamilton, Darren Day and Uri Geller in the Australian outback to survive without the luxuries of life. Then each day for the last week the public has voted out the celebrity they least liked the first being Uri Geller who promised not to use his psychic powers to help win the game show. I?m a Celebrity screened by ITV and presented by Ant and Dec has been very popular with viewers but not everyone has thought it being good television.

A debate on channel 5's 'the wright stuff' brought up the argument that the program is not good tv and doesn't really show any educational values, but it was argued back that the public are very interested in real life tv shows such as I?m a Celebrity and big brother. The show is yet another idea to try to get as many viewers as possible to make more money for advertising, another series is planned for the same time next year it is rumored. Another show following the same steps as last year is popstars the rivals, where 2 bands (1 male and 1 female) will battle it out for the Christmas number one but more of that to come in a future article.
